Character Sheet Elements Back |
Here is a brief listing of all the element available to you in Galaxy Games Online, and how to use them. To make new elements, right click the Objects, Personal or an element, go down to New, and then select the item that you want.
(This list of elements is also available in the help file, which comes with GGO.)SheetCan be placed in: Objects, Sheet, Tabber, Column, FrameCan contain: Sheet, Small String, Large String, Number Pair, Tabber, Checkbox, Column, Big Block of Text, Dice Macro, Frame, Large String (wrapped), Big Block of Text (Wrapped), Rich Text Box, Initiative The "sheet" object is the main element used in character sheets. Sheets are used as the base of other elements. When sheets are placed in Tabbers, they make up the tabs; when sheets are placed in other Sheets or Frames, they make buttons; and when sheets are placed in Columns, they make each column.
Small StringCan be placed in: Sheet, FrameCan contain: Nothing The "small string" object is a small, single line text box where you can store any text. You can store numbers, words, phrases - anything that you can type in. Use the small string element for situations like level, age, race, etc.
Large StringCan be placed in: Sheet, FrameCan contain: Nothing The "large string" object is the same as the small string element, except that it is larger in height. You can use this element to store large strings, such as paragraphs. The large string element is not word wrapped; use the "Large String (Wrapped)" element instead. For a larger block of text, use the "Big Block of Text". Use the large string element for situations like journal, inventory, etc.
Number PairCan be placed in: Sheet, FrameCan contain: Nothing The "number pair" element is a pair of numbers. You can use this for situations such as health, mana, experience/to next level, and so on.
TabberCan be placed in: Sheet, FrameCan contain: Sheet The "tabber" object is an element which displays a series of "tabs". For tabs, place "Sheet" elements in the Tabber. The names of the sheets will become the captions on the individual tabs.
CheckboxCan be placed in: Sheet, FrameCan contain: Nothing The "checkbox" element is quite simply, a checkbox. It holds the values either 1 (checked) or 0 (not checked). You can use this for situations such as if something is equipped, if a character is poisoned, etc.
ColumnCan be placed in: Sheet, FrameCan contain: Sheet The "columns" element can be used to make columns of items. Each of these columns are by default the width of a normal character sheet. To make columns, place a "sheet" object in the column object for each column.
Big Block of TextCan be placed in: Sheet, FrameCan contain: Nothing The "big block of text" object is the larger version of the "large string" element. It is twice as high as the large string.
Dice MacroCan be placed in: Sheet, FrameCan contain: Nothing The "dice macro" element can contain a dice macro string. When viewed, a text box with the dice macro and a button to roll the dice will be displayed. You can use the dice in situations such as the damage a weapon does, the amount of mana used in a spell, etc.
FrameCan be placed in: Sheet, FrameCan contain: Sheet, Small String, Large String, Number Pair, Tabber, Checkbox, Column, Big Block of Text, Dice Macro, Frame, Large String (wrapped), Big Block of Text (Wrapped), Rich Text Box, Initiative The "frame" object displays a frame around elements when viewed. Use it the same as a sheet element. You can use this to group simliar items together.
Large String (wrapped)Can be placed in: Sheet, FrameCan contain: Nothing This is functionally the same as the "large string" element, except that the text is word wrapped.
Big Block of Text (wrapped)Can be placed in: Sheet, FrameCan contain: Nothing This is functionally the same as the "big block of text" element, except that the text is word wrapped.
Rich Text BoxCan be placed in: Sheet, FrameCan contain: Nothing The "rich text box" element is an evolved form of the other text elements such as the "large string" and "big block of text" elements, except that it supports fonts, colours and text formatting. To edit the rich text box, view it, right click on the text box itself, and go "Open Toolbar".
InitiativeCan be placed in: Sheet, FrameCan contain: Nothing This is functinally the same as the "dice" element, except that in initiative rounds (using the Initiative tool in the Tools treeview node), these are rolled (as opposed to dice that are not rolled). |
